The summer is coming to an end and I am now in the
sewing mode again. As the nights cool off even my
youngest son realizes the need for something warm
to cuddle up in. Now we are making “his” quilt and
he is definitely my son with as much patience to see
the end product as I have.
The
summer flew by without me even noticing. Thanks to
all of you it was busy in the shop all summer which
means I didn’t get much sewing done. I am in full
swing now and boy do I love being in front of my
Janome. It was extra special to spend time with
those of you that came for breakfast on Thursdays.
After breakfast I felt inspired, motivated and
refreshed. This has left me feeling extra pumped
for our new Breakfast Club.
Some of the new product arriving in the shop is
creating quite interesting conversations. You will
need to drop by and see what all the excitement is
about.
I would also like to share with you some excitement
among my friends. Quilter’s Cupboard in Uxbridge
will be featured in September’s Quilt Sampler
magazine as a top 10 shop. The quilt design is
stunning and they are taking pre-orders for the
quilt kit so stop by and have a sneak peak.
Blessings
Marg

At Country Quarter we
like to be part of the community and do as much as
possible were there is a need.
This thinking has
encouraged us to take part in the Million Pillowcase
Challange. All pillowcases donated to Country
Quarter will be forwarded to Interval House to
brighten up the day of those who receive them.
The Million
Pillowcase Challange sew day will take place Friday
July 30. Bring your machines and fabric, or
purchase the fabric or kits here, and sew, sew, sew.
The families at Interval House will be very grateful
for the beautiful gifts and signs of a caring
community.

make a pillowcase
make a difference
Calling all quilters, sewers and crafters!
American Patchwork & Quilting is
challenging you to join our efforts to Make
a Pillowcase, Make a Difference. Every
pillowcase can make a difference in your
community. A pillowcase can provide comfort
for a cancer patient, hope for a foster
child, encouragement for a battered woman,
or beauty for a nursing home resident.
To participate, Country Quarter is a hosting
One Million Pillowcase Challenge event in
our area. Once your pillowcases are complete
and donated locally, log on below to enter
how many pillowcases you made. Help us reach
our goal of ONE MILLION Pillowcases.

MS is a neurological disease of
the central nervous system that affects an estimated
55,000-75,000 Canadians. Prevalence rates range from
one MS case per 500 people to one in 1,000 across
the country. Finding a cure for MS and helping
those with MS is a personal mission for me as I have
a family member with MS. To help in a way that I
know we are capable of, Country Quarter is
collecting t-sirts from local businesses and
families with logos, team names and/or numbers in
order to create a t-shirt quilt to donate to MS.
This project will take the assistance and
involvement of the entire community to complete.
T-shirt will be collected until
August 25 and the t-shirt quilt design day will be
August 27. Please join us in collecting t-shirts
and bring your creativity with you on August 27 to
help make this quilt for a good cause.
This is a good opportunity to
give to charity doing something you love. Get
together with other quilters, experienced and
beginner all welcome and have a lot of fun.
