you the basics to create beautifully hand quilted
heirlooms. No machine to carry, just take anywhere
qulting.

from homespuns for an old world look, flannel for a
cozy snuggle quilt or cotton for a look all your
own. This quilt is a favourite of many and now is
your chance to make your own. You will be amazed at
how fast this quilt whips up. Make one for
Christmas, in fact it is so fast, make several.

Charming Tote Bag

create a stylish tote bag that you can use at the

Learn to
Hand Applique

You have
seen all those applique quilts but are not sure
where to start. Liz will show you how to use a
template, position your pieces, applique concave and
convex curves and all with a needle and thread.
Create a beautiful quilt block that will get you
ready for the Rose of Sharon Block of the Month.

Prarie
Women’s Sewing Circle

You are invited to
join a unique, 6 month club that will take you on a
journey back in time. Gather together as the Prairie
Women did, and hear anecdotal stories about their
quilt making, and what daily life was like for those
who traveled by wagon train on the Oregon Trail, to
the lives of quilter’s during the Civil War, and the
years of women’s suffrage for equal rights. Not only
will you learn how our quilting ancestors created
quilts by “Making-Do” with what they had, you will
be invited to do so yourself!!!

Beginner Quilting

is a great class to take as a refresher or if you
are just starting out. Learn to choose fabric,
rotary cut, make pieced blocks, attach borders,
layer, quilt and bind your quilt. This 6 week class
will be the beginning of wonderful things to come
from you and your sewing machine and all in time to
create beautiful Christmas gifts.

Rose of Sharon Block
of the Month
This is a Country Quarter original pattern. Now
that you have learned to hand applique, you are
ready to take on this 12 month Block of the Month.
Each block is different with room to get creative if
you so desire. Choose to make your block of the
month in the fabrics we choose or come in and choose
your own.

Snail’s Tails

Remembering Adelia Club
In
this 4 month club you will get to know Adelia, a 19
year old girl living on the verge of the Civil War
in northern Illinois. Through diary entries you
will see how sewing and quilting were central to a
woman’s life during the 19th century.

You will learn new hand quilting techniques and work
on a different pattern each month. Quilt sizes vary
from doll quilt to lap quilts.
With Kathleen Tracy’s book of patterns we can honour
quiltmakers from the past and re-create
extraordinary quilts that have been left behind for
us to treasure.
This club meets the second Tuesday of the month,
2:00-4:00 or 7:00-9:00
Registration Fee $30
Then only $15 per month.

Experience in Embroidery

For those of you who love the thought of machine
embroidery but want to use your non-embroidery
sewing machine, this is the class to take. Sewing
machines with 8 stitches to 250 stitches are all
welcome…we do not want any machine to feel left out.

Learn to use your machine stitches and double and
triple needles to create beautiful machine
embroidered designs. You will be amazed at what you
can create with your regular sewing machine and a
little imagination.

Learn to Smock

English Smocking is embroidery on
pleats that have been pleated before smocking. It is
an art form whose origin has been obscured in
history but has been handed down from generation to
generation. This is an opportunity for you to learn
an old sewing craft to create heirloom pieces to
hand down to your own family.

Star class, you will learn the simple Option 14™, a
great triangle unit that you can use in any quilt
